Remake not needed | ||

I agree. There is no need to re-invent the freak'n Crow. Why the hell can these people not see that the way to get the franchise up and going again is to
do a literal adaptation of the first novel ala Sin City style.
Take care.....come what may.

I'm rather mixed on this news. Part of its good far as someone talking interest in the crow again. The remaking of the first movie doesnt need to happen.

apparently the path of his ability to be creative or original is shallow and drying up or more like a shadow its there to LEECH! uh i mean suckup all the glory
of the sun that he can but yet in vain he will never be able to do anything more significant or tangible with the CROW the CROW came into power through VERY
special circumstances and it is very unfortunate that Brandon lost his life while breathing life into the character which mirrored his untimely demise by
gunshot...there doesnt need to be a real time or bio style remake of the first CROW in this butchering format .. i have nothing else to share thats remotely
positive on this subject sooo...i hope he changes his mind drops the idea and goes with something else, goneH>C>.SIN CITY now that movie was way F***in
kool.

I have been fuming all day about this...well, not all day but let loose on another forum and it does not sound like it is a positive action to take by those
who want to re-make it. Although, I did have to chuckle when Norrington called for the new film to be less "gothic" and more "realistic".
Not sure how realistic a story about a man coming back from the dead immuned to real world dangers will be, but nice to know Hollywood is on top of these
things.
Anyway, as you can expect I do not like it. Re-making an original film that doesn't warrant a re-make 14 years later, just is insane. The film and Brandon Lee can never truly be parted because they're greed back in 1993 made sure the man didn't make it past 28. Nevermind the fact that this film never would have been finished had it not been for Brandon's own loved ones being assured that this film was being finished for Brandon, and promises from Pressman at the time agreed to never use Eric Draven as a character on film again - out of respect and the memory of Brandon. Not the first promise Pressman has broken, so I doubt I can really be surprised. Those of you that agree with the notion that this should be stopped, come sign our new petition. I am writing a fuming mature and polite letter to Pressman and would like some back up support, if anyone can manage it. http://www.thepetitionsit...e-crow-from-being-re-made |

The only way I'd support Norrington doing anything with The Crow name is if he does the Flesh n Blood story with Iris as the lead. This could be a
fantastic movie if done right and the role of a lifetime for the right actress, as I discussed here http://thecrowchamberoom.yuku.com/topic/957

Im actually pretty stoked about it. Let's forget those terrible sequels and start anew.
Also its nice to just see some life being put into the series again...hopefully something really gnarly will come outta it. I dont see it as being a "remake" i think that'll be shot down real quick, but i could def see a reboot ala batman begins thing go on with the movie. Time will tell, i dont think petitioning or any of that jazz is necessary quite yet. all we know is that their looking into bringing it back no details other than that have been released. ![]()

I'm surprised to see all the negativity here. Despite what association we all have with the crow '94, I have to say that in certain ways, I feel that
film deviated from O'Barr's original vision in ways that I didn't necessarily like. If it wasn't for Proyas and Lee, that film would've
gone to hell. Personally, I'd love to see something a little closer to O' Barr's book. I agree w/Smak in saying that Hopefully this'll not only
be a breath of fresh air for The Crow, but act as a way for us to forget about all those AWFUL sequels (Salvation, Wicked Prayer).
As for Norrington, he played a HUGE part in the reinvention of the Comic Book movie (Blade) and I'm glad they're going w/someone with experience. Granted, LXG is a pretty BAD movie. There's nothing that can be done at this point, the gears are turning, and Hollywood is having its way w/the Crow yet again (don't act like this is the first time either). Even with its flaws, The Crow '94 is Beautiful, Lee is Legend, and Proyas/McDowell/Revell are Gods among men. That movie and everything surrounding it will remain in our hearts forever. I for one, am looking forward to what the new guys have to offer. It can't be worse than a Jive-talkin' pimp played by Dennis Hopper, can it? C'mon guys/gals, this is the CHAMBEROOM! Not the SuperHeroHype message board! This thing hasn't even gone into production yet, nor has a cast been announced. The story of ERIC & SHELLY is a beautiful one and will be told time and time again, be it through film or by word of mouth. Who ever steps into either role I'll welcome with great enthusiasm.

Unless they plan on doing a 100% true to the comic version of the original, I'd rather they tackle new ground instead of rehashing what has been done so
well already.
I'm far from jumping down anyone's throats about something we have no real info on, but we've been sh!t on by Pressman for so long I'd like some reassurance first. |

Amen, Smak and Kr0w!
Crow '94 isn't going anywhere, and there's nothing anyone can do to take away its power. I'm ready for some new blood! |

I don't know what to think. While it's nice to see that someone is interested in doing something with the story, I'm growing weary of remakes. It
would be nice if people would start using original ideas instead of rehashing things that have already been done.
