Got your back there:
Jason Statham Wants to Play 'The Crow'? Here's a curveball that threw me for a loop, and until you rewatch the original don't get your panties in a bunch. Today action star Jason Statham revealed that there is talk of a remake to the James O'Barr comic adaptation, The Crow, and that if anyone ever came to him he'd do it. You can read all about it inside. Brandon Lee starred in the original and died on set during filming. The film has since then become a cult classic among horror fans. Jason Statham tells IESB "You know, there's talk of them redoing THE CROW. That was a good movie with Brandon Lee, although that was years ago. So if that one comes my way, bang! You know, there's so many comic book movies out there and most of the time there's only a handful of people who can do them any justice. Hopefully, they'll come my way for one of them." Brandon Lee played Eric Draven, a young rock guitarist who, along with his fiancee, is brutally killed by a ruthless gang of criminals. Exactly one year after his death, Eric returns -- watched over by a hypnotic crow -- to seek revenge, battling the evil crime lord and his band of urban thugs, who must answer for their crimes. Click the link for the full interview. I'd take this rumor with a grain of salt for now. Oh and Frank Miller may do the film! Frank Miller from "Sin City" and "300"Why would he? Frank Miller wrote both of the comics the films were based from. I see no reason why he'd work on this one, even if it comes to fruition.

Ah yeah, the ole Statham comment. We ran that back in January when he made this comment. I haven't heard anything else on it other than this blurb. Anyone
heard something from either Jason or others from the last few days? Where is there word that Frank Miller is looking at possibly doing this? I am not sure he
would bother with a graphic novel he didn't create. He has so many of his own works that are being brought to the big screen, not sure he would want to
spend time on a project not created by him originally.
Take care.....come what may.

LLcruize wrote:1st and foremost, Hey LL! Frank is actually bringing Will Eisner's "The Spirit" to the big screen, so he's probably toying around with the idea of bringing other graphic novels out into the mainstream. To be honest, this is the first I've heard of a Crow remake or Statham wanting to take a stab at it. If done correctly, it'd definately give the guy some credibility and perhaps propel his acting career rather than settling for B grade/Uwe Boll flicks. This news is actually really exciting, but for some reason or another, I highly doubt it'll see the light of day. I'm not holding my breath, that's for sure.
